Gunlocke's Silea - Best of Neocon 2009 Silver Award

Gunlocke introduced its newest casegoods line Silea at Neocon 2009.

Designed by Mitch Bakker, principal of IDa Design, Silea was "developed to provide designers with the freedom to create innovative, appealing private office solutions, it features unique functionality and extensive flexibility of scale."

Allsteel Stride Wins Silver at Neocon 2009

Neocon 2009 (the annual contract furniture show in Chicago Il.) has concluded, and general reports have attendance being down anywhere from 10% to 20% (depending on whom you ask).

The show was a success for Allsteel, with their new modular workstation line Stride winning Silver in the "Best of Neocon".

Unlike a lot of new products that aren't "ready for prime-time", we have already found a number of client applications for Stride, specifically for clients that are looking for an alternative to the standard "cube", and are focused on sustainability.

Neocon 2009 is underway

Neocon 2009 is currently underway in Chicago Il. Neocon is the contract furniture equivalent to the Detroit Auto Show, where all of the new designs and products are rolled out.

This is the first time in 13 years that I haven't attended, and I'm hearing that many of my local and national colleagues are following suit. Reports I've gotten so far is that attendance is down, but not horrible (probably a good thing).

Allsteel has updated their Merchandise Mart showroom, and they have acheived LEED Gold Certification (click Here to read the story).
